It’s been a few days Internet free and I am unsure what I last wrote about!
We had a fairly sedate last day in Lucerne, we got up early with good intentions to take a train/ferry/cable car up to on of the mountain tops, but the weather was not good for it. We had a nice breakfast out near where the cable car runs though and had a little semi-scenic bus ride.
(This was the next morning, the day we were leaving!)
We paced out the city that day, in the rain and gloom. It was still nice. We wandered around for quite some time and eventually decided to go and see the Avengers that evening.. there was a showing in English. I know it seems a bit odd to take in a movie while you are supposed to be immersing yourself in culture, but it was quite nice to brainlessly watch a film. We had a very nice dinner after the movie, at the Swiss House. It is an old restaurant filled with lots of cool wine decanters and paintings. It is pricey though!
The next morning was catching the train via Olten to Venice. Olten was a ghost town – we were travelling on a public holiday. It seemed it would be a nice place.
This is Olten and it’s covered bridge!
I wish we had more time in Switzerland, but it was on to Venice!
